Amazing service, great atmosphere and reasonably priced. Food is spectacular with beautiful presentation. I would recommend the Tempura Ice Cream for dessert. It's a perfect compliment to the entrees and it received raving reviews from both my wife and I. We will definitely be going back again!

It was ok. I feel like you could definitely get comparable sushi for a fraction of the price. They didn't have many tea options, which was disappointing. Extensive booze menu, but for those of us that don't drink the choices are extremely limited. For 'upscale' sushi this place kinda feels like a hole in the wall.

We spent a good deal of money on a sub-par meal on Valentine's day. It was a 6 course meal and we were unimpressed by all of them. To top it off they didnt even have a functional bathroom. We had to go next door to use those facilities. So that was fun. Long story short, too expensive and wasn't that great. Don't get me wrong it wasn't terrible, but it was in no way worth the money.

Amazing, cozy restaurant. The usual fare is amazing and affordable, but please try their omakase menu if you get a chance. Truly above and beyond. I would also HIGHLY recommend the wine pairing and wagyu options.

Loved this little restaurant! I explored some new sushi with a very personable and pleasant sushi chef named Ben! He made art pieces that tasted so wonderful! Cute and comfortable decor inside with a great staff that made this hidden gem a go to spot for amazing sushi!

Shimogamo has the best sushi in Arizona. While we still love everything else we have tried on their menu, the sushi is definitely the highlight. The restaurant itself is lovely and cozy and the staff are very attentive. It's the perfect place for a date night for sushi lovers.

This is by far THE BEST sushi restaurant I’ve ever been too! Absolutely amazing and fresh with excellent staff. Always very friendly and treat you great every time. I’ve been here about a dozen times with my wife and they greet us by name when we get in. If you want to get a table make sure you call for a reservation because it’s always busy, which is a good thing. 5 stars definitely! Highly recommended.

One of my only true five stars. First, Quality food that is created with authentic Japanese style and taste with contemporary influence. Second awesome group of employees and Managment. Seems like not only do they love working there but take pride in their craft. Third presentation a key point in Japanese style cuisine. Love this place will be back on the regular prices are just right you can spend as little or as much as you want for your experience.

This place is amazing! Best sushi around. Just make sure to call a day ahead if you want to make reservations for a Friday or Saturday as they are a smaller place that fills up quickly.

A bit pricey but well worth it. Didn't try any of the beef but the sushi was excellent. Traditional Americanized sushi rolls were slightly different and more of an umami flavor! Dessert is a must!

Delicious and great quality. I had the Albacore Tuna Nigiri and the Udon Carbonara. The tuna was perfect and the Udon Carbonara was a very nice take on this classic dish. Highly recommend!

Staff was extremely friendly, the food was amazing, and the feel of the place was fairly upscale, while still feeling quite homey. Very comfortable, and I highly recommend the Beef Carpaccio, and the sushi is astounding in quality. To top it off with a fine dessert, makes a great night out.

We read reviews and decided to stop at Shimogamo. It atmosphere in informal and the people very friendly. We caught snatches of other conversations around us and they were very outgoing to everyone. The service was very quick and helpful. The sushi was wonderful. It won an award for the best sushi in the Phoenix metro area. Shimogamo is worth a stop if you are in Phoenix.

GENUINELY the best sushi I've ever had in Arizona. There is nothing that isn't amazing at this place! The service, the chefs, the food, the drinks!! ❤️ I'm so happy we found sushi as delicious as Japantown, San Francisco in California 😉

This is "that place" for you true sushi lovers, but i wouldnt bring kids with the chic atmosphere and limited free space. But man....The food is prepared with the freshest ingredients that compliment the dish rather than overwhelm it. And the white board specials take the already impressive menu up an extra notch or two.....caviar, an oxtail roll, or grilled barracuda are just some of the rotating specials worth checking out!
